Title sequence is a film’s opening credit that designed to create the context of a film and establish expectations about its atmosphere and tone. By hinting at some of the issues, genres, and occasionally characters that will be faced, an effective title sequence may engage and thrill the viewer. Successful title sequence creates an emotional reaction that makes audience want to know more. The storyline and visual aspects of the title sequence are related to the movie itself.

The film that I choose is an Indonesian drama-family named NKCTHI (Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini, English: One Day We'll Talk about Today) directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, produced by Visinema pictures, released in January 2020.
Theme and Concept

The theme and concept for this alternative title sequence are based on the book, the movie, and the original closing title sequence. The illustration used is flat vector style instead of hand drawn style because I want to use a different style and try whether it is suitable or not. Font used is handwriting style because I want to evoking emotion and character since this film is adapted from a book. The color scheme used is “happy” mood palette since the music is pop and upbeat, for the music still using the same as the original title sequence. The color palette “happy” using various bright color it can also increase happiness and engage audience especially the family and their kids. Blue color is one of the most used color, blue represent sky and sea connected with their logo and symbol (paper plane and paper board), blue means freedom, dream, trust, imagination, faith, and intelligence. Transition applied are shape transition and camera transition. Make use animation of the text and object to make the alternative closing title sequence more interesting.
Target Audience

Target audience for this project follows the film rating code, rating code for this film is 13+ meaning that minimum age for watch this film is 13 years old and above with parents’ guide and the content must be child friendly. Basically, the closing title sequence can get target audience that is young teenager from 13 years old to adults even elderly (around 60-75 years old with healthy and fit condition).
Pre-Visualization
Brainstorming with the idea from the original book and the film itself, analysis on the color palette used, font used, illustration, so on. I keep iconic things from this film/original title sequence such as the handwriting font style, music, symbols; paper plane and paper board (origami) and blue color.
Simple sketch storyboard with total scene up to 14 scenes.
Design Process
Overview design process of illustration in Adobe Illustrator.
Illustration Process
Create illustration for important symbol by using pen tool and pathfinder to combine all the path into one object.
Create a window by rectangle shape, create plants and pot by using pen tool. This scene is inspired by the NKCTHI's book cover.
Create a rectangle shape for a door, then make a light from the door by using pen tool.
Create a full body character, but first create the bottom part by using pen tool and rectangle shape tool. Once it done create the body part with the same tool above, separate into layer sequence by type such as body, hands, left foot, right foot, left shoes and right shoes.

Editing and Animating Process
Editing and animating process in Adobe After Effects.
In this scene, animate the door to opened door look like by changing the Position. For the light make use Opacity from 0 to 100%, add a paper plane and animate as the scene above. For the text set keyframes on the Opacity.
For the eighth scene, Right click > Create > Create Shapes from Vector Layer, so I can animate it easily. Start with right foot, change the Position to walking look like (left and right, up and down a bit). Right shoes should follow the position of the right foot so it can move naturally. For the hand just move it left to right as natural as I can by set keyframes on Position and Rotation.

Post Production
I decided to edit again the project in terms of color scheme, animation, and object changes based on some feedbacks.
